Vice President of World Bank Visited National Institute of Statistics in Congo (Brazzaville)

On the afternoon of March 29, Mr. Ousmane Diaguana, the Vice President of World Bank, accompanied by Ms. Ebouka-Babackas, the Minister of Planning, and Ms. Korotoumou Ouattara, the Chief Representative of World Bank to the Republic of the Congo, visited the National Institute of Statistics contracted by Congo Zhengwei. The General Manager of Congo Zhengwei Mr. Xu Yunzhi and the representatives of the project owner and supervisor accompanied the visitors and reported about the project.

The delegation visited the project site to learn about the construction progress, quality and safety, environmental protection, community relations, and AIDS prevention. Mr. Ousmane expressed satisfaction with the project progress and quality, speaking highly of the company’s project management.

The project is an aid project implemented by the World Bank to improve the statistical capacity of the Republic of the Congo. Upon completion, it will become the first higher institute of statistics in the Republic of the Congo and the cradle of high-level statistical professionals in the country.
